Biography

ward winning author, Lizzie T. Leaf, spends her most days in worlds of her own creation. Her family can always tell when she’s working, even if she’s not in front of the keyboard, by the glazed over look that comes into her eyes. The joke at gatherings with family and friends is what overheard tidbit will appear in a future book. When not living in her fantasy world, she loves to travel with her husband…can you say “have suitcase, will travel,” or spend time puttering in the yard, weather permitting. In addition, there are always several books in various stages of completion around the house so when her characters need a rest, she can lose herself in the stories of other authors.

Inspiration

Reading was always a way to escape a childhood that had its problems, especially for a shy child lacking self-confidence. It was easy to pretend to be a heroine in my own stories, in addition to escaping into the worlds created by others. Books became my best friends and I rode the Black Stallion with Alec, I helped Nancy Drew hunt out mysteries, lived the history of civilizations with James Michener and discovered sexual desire through “naughty books” that were passed around with the taboo pages well worn. Marriage put the writing on hold, but never the love of books. Raising a family and earning a living took priority over writing until a few years ago. Children on their own and a new husband with as strong of an appreciation of books as I have put me back into writing. Through his encouragement, I strive to improve my skills with each story I put down.
