Biography
I am a radiologist. Needing another challenge, I went for an MA in Jewish studies and became fascinated by the story of the German occupation of the English Channel Islands during WWII. In a different form, this book was my thesis. It features a few fictional characters, but also is about the Lesbian couple, Claude Cahun (Lucille Schwob)and Marcel Moore (Suzanne Malherbe), who became Resistance propagandists when the Nazis occupied their island. I live in Philadelphia with my husband, many pets, and a large stash of yarn and fabric.
Inspiration
Margaret Atwood has inspired me to do many things, including quilting. The need to explain things and to push for justice is very strong in me. Discovering an amazing couple like Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, who risked their lives and did prison time for their Resistance activities gave me a story that had to be told.
