Look and Listen

Biography

Originally started life in the arts as an animator and illustrator, working on Saturday Morning Cartoons. In film and TV we have the challenge of trying to tell a story visually, rather than descriptively. During work in this field, my notebook became flooded with countless ideas from children's stories to movie re-writes, and full length novels. One story in particular stood out above the rest and has become a 3 year obsession of work and research.

Inspiration

Anything that has a good format of telling a story has come off as inspiration. I have a wide collection of classics ranging from Moby Dick and Sherlock Holmes, to Calvin and Hobbes. Film, TV, even Video Games all offer some range of storytelling, and for me, if the story is worth writing, it is worth telling, and worth listening to. The ones that grab my attention the most, however, are the ones which seem to revolve around a whole new world or universe. Its not just about the protagonist and antagonist, but its about everything and everyone involved. Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Mass Effect, ect... The amount of time, research, and creativity involved in creating a whole new world is simply fascinating and awe-inspiring!
