Biography

I'm an almost-37-year old business owner, author, wife and mother of two. My business is The Hidden Helpers and we take authors from the stage of "Hey, I want to write a book" to handing the file off to the printer and everything in between: writing, editing, formatting, cover designs, research, transcription, media kits, press releases, etc. I've co-authored two books and I'm still thinking about my next one. I'm a member of the Board on the International Virtual Assistants Association and the Central Pennsylvania Association for Female Executives. I also speak at conferences and seminars on occasion. When I'm not working, I'm playing with my 5 and 7-year-old sons: taking them to the pool, playing board games, going on hikes and hosting playdates. I also spend a lot of time reading (who guessed?) and catching up on past seasons of LOST. I also like to travel. I live in New Cumberland, PA and I can see TMI (Three Mile Island-- you know where they had the near-nuclear-meltdown back in the 70's) from my neighborhood!

Inspiration

I write non-fiction, so to me, it's about filling a need. I've seen some otherwise great books that are unreadable because they weren't professionally edited. That led to "Write It Right". My second book, "Entrepreneurial Freedom" came about after receiving tons of emails asking me how I became a successful virtual assistant and what they need to do to be like me. :) When I was in 6th grade, I wrote in an autobiography assignment that I wanted to be a nurse, a social worker, or an author. I've accomplished two of the three. But an author is my favorite. I've always had a knack for writing. Now I ghostwrite and edit for lots of prominent people.
