Biography

Laura Marie Henion is a freelance writer and fiction author specializing in the genre of romance and suspense. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America, Sisters In Crime and EPIC Authors, and has obtained many of her ideas and accurate information from family members, friends and law enforcement personnel. She has always had an interest in the law enforcement field and enjoys creative writing. As a young adult she created short stories and poetry to share with her family and friends. Laura integrated her creative writing skills in her professional career as both a sales center manager and a social worker. Laura is also the office manager for her husband's business and a Mom of three. She loves working with people and believes this stems from both her Bachelors Degree in Social Work as well as her strong, law enforcement family background. These factors add to the authenticity of her stories and the true to life qualities of her characters. She continues to work on multiple manuscripts including the new series Cop's Daughter. Laura Marie is currently working towards her Masters in Professional Writing and presently resides in Historic Hudson Valley New York with her husband and three small children.

Inspiration

I have always enjoyed writing as a young adult whether it was in the form of poetry or short stories. Between working and being newly married there just didn't seem to be any time for that childhood hobby anymore. As my husband and I began to start our family I found myself having a little time at night to wind down and enjoy reading novels again. I was home alone all day with three young children under five years old. It was chaotic, stressful and took a lot out of me but I loved it. I was finally in a routine and getting organized when one day the idea struck me and the urge to write. I sat down and wrote a poem. I hadn't done it in years and the feeling of accomplishment was inspiring. So inspiring that I decided I needed something for myself. Something that I loved and enjoyed doing but could also help me handle all the stresses of being a stay at home mom. In between diaper changes, bottles, meals, laundry and house cleaning, never mind my husband's office work, I began to write. In doing so my first novel JUST LOVE ME was created. The rest as they say is history. I am currently releasing my fourth romance and suspense novel and the second book to the COP'S DAUGHTER series. In October I will be releasing the third book of the series and in March 2008 a completely new novel will be released. I absolutely love writing and creating believable charecters that my readers can relate to and also learn to love. To me the "AHH" factor at the end of a romance and suspense novel is key to the completion of a story. If a book doesn't have that then why bother?
