Biography
Author. Singer. Motivational Speaker. These are just a few of the things that Kristina Coia has accomplished in her fifteen years. This Marlton, New Jersey high school sophomore is the author of Falcon’s Prey and Lymeria, two fantasy novels for teens/young adults. Kristina has always enjoyed reading and writing as she first began writing in kindergarten. By freshman year in high school, she had penned Falcon’s Prey (ISBN 0-595-41332-3, iUniverse, 2007). The book is a thrilling fantasy novel, in which a princess embarks on a journey of self-discovery and love through a land filled with treachery and hate. It is designed for teen girls. The book teaches an underlying message of self-esteem and self-respect. Asked to speak about Falcon’s Prey, Kristina realized that a speech on her book would not reach the young girls, she was speaking to, so instead, she developed Shine Through. Shine Through is a program that teaches self-esteem, self-respect, honesty, and character development. The speech turned out to be so popular that Shine Through is now a program that Kristina conducts throughout the country designed for girls in fifth to eighth grade. It presents positive values and morals to teens through the eyes of a peer. She has worked with school districts and the American Red Cross in promoting Shine Through. Entering her sophomore year, Kristina saw the release of her second book, Lymeria (ISBN 978-0- 595-45268-2, iUniverse, 2007), a fantasy novel that is a spellbinding tale of love, faith, and friendship. Like Falcon’s Prey, the book is intended for teens/young adults. Kristina is currently working on her third novel. She is also an accomplished singer and has a soundtrack that accompanies Falcon’s Prey written by Kristina herself. She has been featured on FOX & Friends on the FOX News Channel, and countless shows across the country for her work with Shine Through. Kristina is an honor roll student in high school and also enjoys the art of performing.
