Biography

I was in the Navy for six years and worked as a Russian linguist. Then, I became a technical writer at a software company writing very dry, boring manuals for techno-geeks. Tired of the commute and the stress, my husband and I left our jobs and bought a bed and breakfast. Now I spend my days cleaning rooms, cooking breakfast, and taking reservations...oh, and writing a book or two.

Inspiration

I've always wanted to write. I enjoyed using my imagination and loved language and grammar. My big passion is correct spelling. In college I wrote ONE short story. Before that, I could only manage really nice descriptive paragraphs. I wasn't quite sure how to put it all together in a story. Then, after I'd gotten married and had a couple of kids, I decided to try the writing thing one more time. I signed up for the NaNoWriMo writing challenge in 2003. I actually almost finished writing a 50,000-word novel. That's when I knew I could do it, and I've been writing seriously ever since.
