Biography

Although I am an only child, I come from a big loving family. Despite the common misconception that people who are only children are spoiled, my mom instilled in me hard work ethics and the facts of life. Therefore, I believe in working hard for what you want and I don't care too much for freebies. So, I went to college (Florida A&M University) and earned a degree in Public Relations. I worked in the field for about five years and then decided to began teaching. I took the grueling 3 hour teacher certification test and passed and I am certified in English. Like most, I've had my share of ups and downs. I must say that it is the downside that have made me stronger. 5 years ago, I under went thyroid surgery. Doctors discovered that it was in fact cancerous when they began removing it. Fortunately, it was caught in its early stages and treated. I was told that I would not be able to talk the same etc. etc. I have been talking and eating every since I awoke from the surgery. Because I believed that this obstacle was not going to prevent me from doing whatever I was meant to in life. After fully recovering and undergoing all of the treatments, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Again, my doctors told me that I would have limited activities. However, my heart is "3 times and strong" doctors say and I have been working every since. In fact, it was during my recovery that I wrote my first book, "For You: A Collection of Love Poems." Afterall, anything is possible. I truly believe that!

Inspiration

I was always driven by love- the love of my family and in my relationships. Therefore, most of my writings are centered on the subject. Unfortunately, I wasn't lucky in the beginning to have Prince Charming. I kissed several frogs. But I knew in my heart that real love existed and that I would find it. I did! So, I composed a book to help individuals like myself to not give up on love. The book is also written for those who have found love and to help them keep love alive.
