As an educated professional woman I had complete control of my life and my goals. Infertility changed all of that. Along my journey I gave up control and when I did my life fell into place.

Biography
My husband and I experienced infertility, which was initially very traumatic on our relationship. We successfully conceived twins during an IVF (in vitro fertilization) and our daughters are now three and one-half years old. The priorities in my life have changed and I am a different person than I was four years ago. Prior to our infertility, I was a CPA helping small businesses write their business plans so they could obtain financing. Additionally, I helped small businesses create financial projections and consulted with them quarterly. My hobbies are reading, hiking, walking and spending time with my family.
Inspiration
When my husband and I were diagnosed as an infertile couple I was devastated. We struggled in our marriage because we had different ideas about what this diagnosis meant to us as individuals and to us as a couple. Somehow we managed to stayed married though the infertility and were even able to return to a happy marriage just prior to beginning infertility treatments. For reasons unknown, my water broke when I was only 30 weeks pregnant. Our daughters were born weighing only 2 lbs 11oz and 2 lbs 9oz. They had to be placed on life saving medical equipment. Their premature birth was the event that inspired me to write my book. No parent should have to experience what we did, yet almost 500,000 babies are born too soon in the U.S. The purpose of my book is to help educate and bring awareness to prematurity.
