Biography

I am the author of the children's book "Freddie Frog's Great Wisdom" and put some of my childhood memories in the book. I wrote another children's book and hope to have that published soon. I am currently writing a book about my six year old grandson who has overcome many challenges in his young like. I was born on July 9th, 1960 in Pikeville, Kentucky. I have three brothers and two sisters who I grew up with there. My mother was a good christian woman who had the love of God and her children in her heart. Our "Granny" was also a strong woman who had no children of her own but raised my mother and helped raise us. However, we all seen her as our true grandmother. I married and moved to Michigan in 1975. Michigan might as well have been another country without the mountains I grew up loving. I still think of Kentucky as my home and probably always will. I am proud of where I came from and my southern heritage. I love to laugh, and you have to have a sense of humor when raising four children and five grandchildren. I use some of the memories of raising my children and the things they did in my stories.

Inspiration

There are many influences that define me as a writer. I look back on my own childhood and put my own memories on paper. The mountains that we played on and the woods we ran through are all sketched in my mind. The creek that ran by our house where we built a pond and swam in is there. My family also influenced my writing. They gave me encouragement and love. God also has been an inspiration to me. He is always there when I need him. My school teachers and friends have been good influences as well.
