Kathy Trueman, aka Catherine Dove
Laugh! (My humor is limited by the 200 characters.) I write Regency romances and fantasy. I don't have both oars in the stream of reality, and I'm happy that way.

Biography

I'm a 50-something blond female Sagittarian, which pretty much sums it up. I was raised an Army brat and currently live in rural Texas with a friend and a bunch of animals. I love chocolate, beer, sex, books, movies, and writing, in changing order. I hate most green vegetables, intolerance, political and religious discussions, most cell phone use, and a bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now. Don't ask me anything you don't want a truthful answer to, because the switch between my brain and my mouth got left out somehow when I got created.

I've been writing since - well, lets just say a long time. When you're over 50, the years start to blur. I went to a tiny college with a superb English department, but despite my enjoyment of the experience, I didn't get serious about writing until about 10 years ago. Or so. I got a short story published by Marion Zimmer Bradley, was high for a few years, but have been unable to break into traditional publishing since. I've lately taken up an old love, Regency romances. My first was published as an ebook, and yes, I was high about that, too.

I am now looking forward to retirement. Sooooo looking forward to it.

I have two websites: http://kathytrueman.com and http://catherinedove.com.

Inspiration

I started telling myself stories - using plastic and glass animals - when I was about 5 years old. I am a voracious reader, and it felt like a completely natural move to go from reading to writing. By the time I started writing, in 7th grade, I already had a wealth of reading experience behind me. Now, my biggest influences are Georgette Heyer and Jane Austen for my Regency romances and JRR Tolkien, along with a number of other excellent writers in the field for my fantasy tales.
