    Biography

I am a young writer/poet who, over the past few years has gotten really into natural health and wellness. I have suffered many losses due to poor nutrition and misinformation including the loss of both of my parents. I was, myself, diagnosed with manic depression at the age of 20 and now because of one the medications I took for my disorder, I now am a diabetic with hypertension. I began writing in 2001 as therapy, and what ending up coming out of me was poetry..to my surprise! The poems I wrote were mostly based on my own life experiences and when I would read them to people they usually thought I had copied it from somewhere. My poetry is real and unique. I don't know much about how to market and promote..Before 2001, I didn't even know I was a poet, but I believe that life is all about learning and I consider myself a student of life. I wanted my book to be published because I believe God gave me those words to share with someone who needs to know that somebody has been where they are. I write when the muse strikes, but mostly I spend my time reading books that focus on various herbs and foods that I can use to beat my medical conditions.

    Inspiration

Most of my poetry in The Breadth of Love was inspired by relationships that I had with people whom I loved. One poem, Woman of the Year, was inspired by a black and white movie that I caught on public television. Some of my poetry was inspired by the music I listened to at the time. I really enjoy Billie Holiday and Floetry as well as Erykah Badu and Jill Scott.
