Biography

Somehow early in life, I felt drawn to motivational speaking. By sharing my life story in an honest, comedic, frank, sometimes emotional, mostly laughing manner, I hope that I can touch one or two people and let them know that they are not alone. Many women I meet are surprised to find out that I did not jump from the womb as the successful, driven, assertive professional woman I am today. By taking responsibility for myself and facing my demons head on, I evolved from neurotic, alcohol abusing, relationship jumping lunatic to a somewhat, calm, laid back confident woman. I am wide open in sharing my life, my experiences, my mistakes and my humor! It is possible to become the woman that you have always wanted to be. I love the woman that I have become. I hope that I can encourage more women to join me on this adventuresome journey of life! Through motivational speaking, writing and living my life as a professional role model, I assist women and girls develop their own sense of self, gain personal power and develop their full potential.

Inspiration

Music and more music...I have always felt very alone in this world. Wearing the social mask of what I thought would bring approval, bring happiness, bring love and acceptance ultimately held me captive from knowing genuine true joy that comes from human connection. Music took me on a journey and helped me discover who I always was and who I wanted to become. My best friend, Jennifer, who said to me, "Girl, I may not understand you but damn it if I don't love you". Judy Stevens-Long, my dissertation chair and my mentor, gave me the courage to write as I speak and be true to my own voice.
