Biography

Jorge De Lara is a recognized artist by the state of Florida listed by the Department of Cultural Affairs and The Miami Dade Department of Cultural Affairs as well as many private arts organizations throughout the country and the world. Bronx, New York born, the Miami raised “native” is one of the areas top local artist, called South Florida's Baseball Artist. A life long amateur baseball player, still active in the SFPL, the South Florida Baseball League. For many years the only staring pitcher and clean-up hitter in teh league. Works in the private collections of: Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez, 3 time World Champion NY Yankees; Jackie Johnson, formerly of WSVN 7; Luis Castillo, 2003 World Champion Florida Marlins; Randy McMicheal, Miami Dolphins Rookie 2002. Many others not listed due to requested privacy. Inspiration

MY inspiration comes from many sources, but mainly from the swirling action of the games we play, the colors of the places we play, and the amazing variety of cultures the people of my home in South Florida provide.
