Biography

I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and have spent the majority of my life in the SW states. I lived on the East Coast for several years, when I worked for the Federal Government. My passion for fantasy began in middle school, when I first read Stephen R. Donaldson, and J.R.R. Tolkien. After those books, I was completely hooked on Fantasy. Around that same time I discovered fantasy role-playing games, and a perfect outlet for what I love to do, design worlds, characters, and deeply plotted story lines. For over 20 years, I wrote all manner of material for games I played in and administered. Four years ago, however, I thought I'd try my hand at writing a novel based in a world and on characters that I have worked on for fifteen years. I took several writing classes, to gain some formal education, and then launched full force into writing my first novel. Along the way, I gained an invaluable mentor in the multi-published novelist Terri Valentine.

Inspiration

The first six fantasy novels I read are responsible for my lifelong love of fantasy fiction.
