    Look and Listen

    Biography

Born in 1965 in Liverpool ( a port in the northwest of England known as the birthplace of the Beatles although I am myself only a moderate Beatles fan) Gemini (for those who believe those things) Worked as a pensions/payroll manager for fourteen years until 1995 then retired due to complications with Tourette’s Disorder. I have had Tourette’s since the age of 7. Worked as a doorman on a number of clubs for a couple of years. Once had the dubious pleasure of knocking back a ship full of Russian sailors from a gay bar. Did twenty years of Martial arts, used to lift weights but now the only weight I lift is all on my stomach. Tried to become a Qabbalah magician but could only raise a thirst. Went to John Moore’s University in Liverpool to study software engineering and got the degree several y ears later. Am now interested in website design although not professionally. My hobbies include reading and writing and the usual clichéd stuff like listening to music and watching films. I am a big fan of the Universal monster films I must admit. I also enjoy any werewolf or vampire film. My Christmas movie is ‘The Fearless Vampire Killers’ by Roman Polanski. I like to collect Scrooge films as well, in fact I have several hundred DVDs and videos in my collection. I am not a big comic book fan but I have been collecting the Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 8 comics from Dark Horse. I was published in comic book form back in 1993 in Mindbenders and you can see the three stories at http://www.mindbenders.biz I once saw Highgate cemetery as a child, especially the tomb where the Highgate Vampire was supposed to be trapped. – had a strange effect on me, started my interest in the occult and vampirism and folklore. My favorite film is “The Last Valley” starring Omar Sharif and Michael Caine, my two favourite groups at the moment are Seeed and Rammstein and my favourite authors are Terry Pratchett and Robert Rankin. I hold no particular religious belief, although I was raised Church of England, I do believe one should experience religion get into it’s heart and then make an informed choice. I live in the historic city of Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany, with my wonderful wife and two young boys (the second of whom has down syndrome). We have a chinchilla named Pacqui who has half eaten our collection of books making them special and unsellable.

    Inspiration

I have always been a reader but walking through some creepy streets on the way to school as a kid got me interested in the Supernatural, and, of course, England is quite a haunted country and Liverpool seems especially so.
