Biography

I am a single mother of two great kids, one of whom is serving with the Army Reserves in the middle east. As my kids have grown older, I find that I have time to learn about me and try all of the things I wanted to try. As a result, I am now a published author and an artist. I'm a multipotentialite - I delve into anything that catches my imagination. I've done so many things - from managing multiple non-profit organizations to driving a public transit bus. At the moment, my 'big girl' job centers around helping families who deal with with Down's Syndrome and Autism.

Inspiration

So many things inspire my writing. I've been scribbling since I was about nine years old, and I've written novels, memoirs, short stories, and poetry. I come from a long line of storytellers (it's been a family rumor for years that I'm related to Dickens on my mother's side, but I have no idea if that's true.) Words themselves are fascinating to me, and I love to play with them! I've been caught reading dictionaries, and can spend a couple of hours with a thesaurus. I collect famous quotes and funny phrases and tape them all over my house. The Kindle revolution finally made me brave enough to try my hand at publishing some of my work. The results have been exciting for me, and I'm now editing my mother's novels (she's also a closet scribbler) for publication. Life is pretty good!
