Biography

I am a reader of short stories and poetry and I started writing in high school. I wrote poetry throughout college and continue to this day. My fiction writing began in earnest several years ago. I wrote what I love, mysteries. It was a learning process with a few manuscripts landing in the trash. Membership in several writing groups such as Sisters In Crime, helped me understanding the writing life. A hobby turned into a life’s passion. My current books Pennywise and Drop Dead Delicious created two of my favorite characters, Maggie and Odessa, amateur detectives. As with most of my work, they reflect the people and environment around me. A native New Yorker, I love the multi-cultural nature of the city and hope my writing reflects that.

Inspiration

Though the mystery genre is my favorite, I am an eclectic reader to anything that catches my fancy. Writer that inspire me are Alice Walker, Neil Gaiman, Elmore Leonard, Michael Connelly and John Irving.
