Biography

Jewel and her husband, Chuck are parents of three sons and grandparents of fourteen children. In her spare time, Jewel Sample loves to go antiquing for old dolls and toys. Most of all she enjoys the play dates with her grandchildren, who encourage her to tell tem a new story before their play date ends. Sample enjoys inspiring children to have hope and to be their very best selves through storytelling.

Inspiration

Growing up poor and learning the meaning of significant loss are behind my inspiration to write for children. I learned early in life that adults are not always aware of a child's need to be supported during signifcant loss. The level of guidance and understanding a child receives during childhood stays with them through out adulthood. Planting seeds of encouragement and hope in a child's heart is the wind beneath my wings.
