Biography

Jessie Best began her writing career slightly over a year ago. For many years she has been employed in the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse. Commuting a fair distance to work everyday has given her imagination a real work out. Snatches of music,visual scenes,and a multitude of mental images have given her ideas for several stories which she hopes will turn into more children's books, as well as a few adult ones. "I close my eyes and a world of pictures and images unfolds." Turning these images into words, and words into stories is how her first book occured. Jessie's growing up years were spent in the Ottawa Valley region and she moved to Toronto as an adult. She is the grandmother of two very active grandchildren to whom her first book is dedicated and have inspired several poems for children.
