Biography

Jackie Mahaney is a Relationship Speaker and Author of a new book titled, "Meet Delaney". It's the tale of Delaney an intelligent, pretty young woman who is suddenly dumped by her then "love of her life" husband and is thrown into the single scene for the first time in her adult life. Panic, joy, sadness and laughter ensure as Delaney dives into the single world. From the rebound guy, to on line dating- readers will follow Delaney as she navigates through all of the twists and turns of being a single woman today. In the book, you will meet Delaney's colorful friends and go through the wacky and sometimes deeply touching moments of her single life. Jackie Mahaney was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. She has a Bachelor of Communications degree from California State University-Dominguez Hills. Jackie is happily married to her husband, Michael and they live in Arizona with their cockapoo, Emma Hope. Jackie is currently working on her second novel- "Looking for Tarzan" - Available Feb. 08

Inspiration

When I was five years old, I remember saying to my mother,"Mommy, when I grow up, I want to write books." As though it were to be expected, she answered very matter of factly, "Then I guess you will be just like your aunt Gladys." Aunt Gladys was my grandfather's sister, whom I have never met. Aparently, she wrote a book called, "Three jumps ahead of the squirrel" I have never read her book, either. Writing has always been an outlet for me... from writing love poems to my eighth grade boyfriend, Lonnie Curry... to journaling during most of my life, I have found that the words of my heart flow very easily onto paper. I am blessed, I guess.... at least, that is what my mother would say. :) I think so too. I have found that people can relate to my words, because they have had the same thoughts themselves...just didn't know how to put them on paper. My new book, "Meet Delaney" is available on amazon.com and in a few bookstores that I have been able to get on the shelves at. I am hopeful to find an agent or just that one "right" person to read the book and know that I can touch many through the thoughts of my character, Delaney. I believe that what ever is meant to happen in life, will happen. The most we can do to achieve our dreams is try. I am trying today. I can say that each night before I go to sleep. "I am trying." :)
