I love chocolate & cappuccino. My current fave is one with bits of real raspberry in it. And hand baked parsnip & beetroot crisps (chips to the US). Kinda love those, too. I’m healthier than I sound.

Biography
One day, a character and scene popped into J. A. Belfield’s head, and she started controlling the little people inside her imagination, as though she were the puppet master and they her toys. Questions arose: What would happen if …? How would they react if …? Who would they meet if …? Before she knew it, a singular scene had become an entire movie. The characters she controlled began to hold conversations. Their actions reflected the personalities she bestowed upon them. Within no time, they had a life, a lover, a foe, family … they had Become. One day, she wrote down her thoughts. She’s yet to stop. J. A. Belfield lives in Solihull, England, with her husband, two children, three cats and a dog. She writes paranormal romance, with a second love for urban fantasy.
Inspiration
I've loved reading Dean Koontz, as well as any urban fantasy series that's well written. Reading Koontz broadened my word usage, because I used to sit with a dictionary at my side whenever I read his stuff, and jot down any words that sounded pretty cool and I knew I could use. When younger, I had no specific genres I followed. From horror like James Herbert, to historical romances with more sex scandals than you find in the soaps on TV--I couldn't get enough of books. My tastes have narrowed lately, though. I love romance, but prefer it to have a paranormal twist to the story (although it doesn't HAVE to), and I love my kick back reads like Jane Green, and Sophie Kinsella. When I'm in the mood for a bit of thriller or crime, Jeffrey Deaver, and Val McDermot are definitely on my hot list--both have written a series that had me coming back for more.
