    Biography

I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 30 years. My first book, Patient Power: How to have a Say During Your Hospital Stay was published almost 20 years ago. Riding the Infertility Roller Coaster is based on my personal infertility experience and my clinical work with people who have struggled with infertility. I interviewed men and women who have chosen different paths in regard to infertility. I wish I had A Book is Born when I was writing my second book. It carefully explores all aspects of writing and publishing a book and that information combined with the knowledge and expertise of its authors makes it a powerful tool for any writer with publishing aspirations.

    Inspiration

I was inspired to write my first book after working in hospitals for 13 years and seeing that if people had the right information that would help them cope with hospitalizations. I went to my favorite local bookstore and watched a famous author describing her own frustration with her pregnancy and labor. That triggered my idea and outline for my book Riding the Infertility Roller Coaster. I did my first author event at that same bookstore. It felt great. My personal goal is to reach as many people as I can to help them understand that they don't have to be alone and powerless when facing infertility. I have led groups and done workshops and articles on this issue and will continue to work to reach as many as possible. Joining Wyatt-Mackenzie, the publishing co-operative I participate in was very transformative. My colleagues and I lend support, resources, and information to each other as we continue on our personal quests to publish and seel, market our books. It has been a wonderful experience for me.
