Look and Listen

Biography

I have always loved books and reading, children and animals. I trained as a teacher and taught at pre-school for many years. Later I taught students who were training to be early childhood teachers. Now I go as a storyteller to many of the early childhood centres in Armidale NSW Australia where I live. I have three adult children and three grand children. I live with my husband on four acres of land that is mainly garden. For many years we had two donkeys but now we have only a dog and lots of wild birds to enjoy in the garden.

Inspiration

My Mother always read to me when I was a child. We had a bookcase full of books and my brother's books were full of adventure, so those were the ones I liked best. At school I liked the library lessons best of all because the teacher always read to us from an exciting adventure. My class teacher in primary school always finished the day by reading to the class too. I decided then that I would like to be a writer when I grew up.
