Biography
Heather Hiestand’s first short story, “Nancy’s Magic Penny”, was written when she was seven. Though the story was popular in grade school publishing circles, it took her years to find additional fiction publication. After years of reading across various genres, she has been reading, enjoying and reviewing romances for a decade and is now thrilled to share her own stories with readers. Her fiction is currently available from Cerridwen Press, Highland Press, Lavender Isis, Top Publications, and Ellora's Cave. Her first novel, “The Cards Never Lie”, was released from Cerridwen Press in March of 2007. Her second and third novels, "One Juror Down" and "Gunshot Grange", will come in the summer of 2007.
Inspiration
I was writing by the age of seven so I must have been inspired by my parents who read voraciously. I still share books with them. I love happy endings so I love romance. I love justice so I love mystery. I love thoughts about what the future holds so I love science fiction. In all writing I love the idea of characters finding their place in world. Connie Willis is my favorite author. She has written about her characters (I paraphrase) being confused and trying to figure out what is going on. That really speaks to me in terms of theme.
