Biography
Gabrielle F. Culmer spent her childhood in The Bahamas in a picturesque and quaint setting before continuing her studies abroad. This setting has inspired some of her initial writings. The first collection of poetry, "Blue Streams to Paradise," was published in 2006, and was followed by her first novel, "A Matter of Keeping" in 2009 and now her second novel "Damp Whisper." She holds Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees, and enjoys gathering research, swimming, traveling and music.
Inspiration
The author has been inspired by an eclectic background, history, travels, landscapes, and beaches. The novel, "A Matter of Keeping," has been inspired by the appreciation of a simpler way of life, and how it forms one's aspirations. It was inspired by the quaint island atmosphere and its rich heritage. The novel shows decision making, family life and over-coming obstacles to pursue one's goals. Her new novel, "Damp Whisper" has been inspired by familiar environments and an appreciation of the family unit in times of adversity.
