Biography

I offer compassion and hope for people who are stuck in the emotional pain of abuse or trauma. I share my personal story briefly in the book, and honor God as the source of ultimate healing and honor the reader who is seeking healing courageously. In my speaking engagements, I sprinkle in humor as I share how God is faithful with our past, our present and our future. I am 49, a deeply committed Christian woman, married to a great guy Rod, for 29 years and the mother of three grown kids. I am blessed that the very worst of my life has been transformed by the power of God's love and His Word, to be a book of healing for others who suffer.

Inspiration

The years of abuse, both physical and sexual, took a tole on my emotions, my self-esteem, my relationships and my ability to function. I grew up confused, hurt, lost, and broken. As a young adult, I experienced immobilizing depression. I lived in the emotional vapor of my past, as if a black cloud enveloped me. Jesus Christ, my Lord, brought me out of that cloud. His Word to me was a healing light to my broken spirit. As I went through counseling, learning tiny steps of the healing process and later went even deeper into a more profound healing through the Word of God, I found that I wanted to share the two together, tiny steps of healing and the Scripture that heals completely and profoundly. It is a joy to be in the place of helping others find the same comfort and love that I found.
