Look and Listen

Biography

I was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but quickly removed to North Carolina, where I grew up. I spent most of those years with my nose in a book, almost always fantasy but with a little science fiction thrown in. It was probably no big surprise to my parents when I announced at age eight that I was going to be a writer. In addition to my writing, I've been employed as an archaeologist, administrative assisstant, receptionist, and wildlife rehabilitator. Right now, I live outside of Charlotte, NC, with my wonderful husband and several adorable cats. I love animals, vegetarian cooking, and good beer.

Inspiration

Some of my influences in no particular order: the artwork of Robert Gould, various history classes, Louise Cooper, Michael Moorcock, C.J. Cherryh, HP Lovecraft, Carl Barks, and Joss Whedon.
