Biography
I’m a Las Vegas-based college instructor and family guy with three step-kids and a wonderful partner. I’ve recently published an academic book called Anthropology at the Dawn of the Cold War: The Influence of Foundations, McCarthyism and the CIA. I’m also the project manager and contributing editor at lifehack.org, a site devoted to personal development, organization, and productivity. And since all that doesn't keep me busy enough, I'm also the author of The Writer's Technology Companion at writerstechnology.com, a guide to the world of technology as it impacts the life of a writer.
Inspiration
I've been inspired by the humanism of authors like Kurt Vonnegut, Harlan Ellison, Ursula Leguin in fiction, and Stephen J. Gould and Ashley Montagu in the sciences. I've been inspired by great teachers and professors, who challenged me to think differently (in a way Steve Jobs never has). And to be frank, I've been inspired by tools -- like most writers, I over the feel of ink flowing across a page, the slow blossom of words across a computer screen, the clack-clack of a typewriter.
