    Biography

    Born and raised on a cattle ranch near Pierre, South Dakota, the second of five daughters, Dr. Neddermeyer developed her career in “the big city” (New York), balancing her role as a single parent of two children and commuting to Manhattan, where she worked as a management and organizational development consultant to corporations, while maintaining a part-time private holistic mental health care practice. Currently she maintains a full-time private practice, while maintaining some corporate consulting. She holds a PhD in Philosophy/Metaphysics and a Master’s degree in Social Work; she is a board member of the International Association for Regression Research and Therapies; a Diplomate in Ericksonian Neuro-Linguistic Hypnotherapy on the National Board of Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, a Diplomate International Academy Of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Inc., Certified in Transactional Analysis, Jungian Psychology, Rational Emotive Therapy, Spiritual Psychology and a Board Member of the Arizona Holistic Chamber of Commerce. Her practice includes holistic mental health care for Individuals, Couples, Families, and Special Issue Groups, treating a range of conditions including: Low Self-Esteem/ Co-dependency, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Anger Management, Depression, ADD, ADHD, MS, TMJ, Sexual Abuse Recovery, Physical Abuse Recovery, Emotional and Mental Abuse Recovery, Eating Disorders, Addictive/Compulsive Behavior, Post Traumatic Stress, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. As a speaker, seminar leader and professional coach on a variety of issues, Dr. Neddermeyer has over twenty-five years experience in Personal and Professional Development. She has been a consultant to professionals in such companies as: Exxon, Mobile, AT&T, IBM, Fisher Scientific, Merrill Lynch, Bank of New York, First Boston, Digital, Warner Lambert, and Equitable. Dr. Neddermeyer’s extensive research and clinical practice in the area of Verbal, Emotional, Physical and Sexual Abuse Prevention and Recovery has led to the development of unprecedented and effective PREVENTATIVE TECHNIQUES, which she has used both in her professional practice and as a mother of two grown children, her “greatest non-career achievement”. If I’d Only Known... Sexual Abuse in or out of the Family: A Guide to Prevention makes these techniques–described in layperson’s language–easy to understand and implement. She is a co-author with Ken Blanchard, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, 101 Great Ways To Improve Your Life, Volume III. Living in Phoenix since November, 2003, Dr. Dorothy, as she is affectionately called by both friends and clients, is enjoying working full time, hiking, visiting Arizona ruins, landmarks and being a grandparent to her four grandchildren--age 10 - 5.

    Inspiration

    Dr. Neddermeyer's writing has been influenced by reading as a child. Her favorite childhood books are: Andy And The Lion, Esop's Fables, the Little House on the Prairie series, Jack London's and Jack O'Brien's books.
