Biography

My writing career began in 1987 with my first short story. Since that time I have more than 50 titles in print which include full length novels and novellas. Three of my novels have been adapted for television. I have been a writing instructor for the Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center and prior to me venturing off to full-time writing I worked for ten years as a publicist for the Queens Library system in New York. I am the proud mother of three great kids one of which is a beautiful songstress, an actor and a mother of two gorgeous kids of her own. I enjoy every episode of Law & Order and reading James Patterson, Bernice McFadden, Jeffery Deavers among a host of others. Inspiration

My early inspiration came from my aunt Marjorie who recently passed away. She was a school teacher and social worker and every day when she would come home from work she would make me read--from the the time I was four years old. My love for the written word began from then and has grown. Inspiration for my writing springs from everything around me, from the latest news, to old movies, current issues, to a name that will strike and idea.
