Biography

I began writing in 1996, following a 20-year career in investigations and law enforcement in New York State. I currently have six fiction and three non-fiction books published. My non-fictions are about Las Vegas police and organized crime history. My latest release (July 1, 2007) is CULLOTTA – The Life of a Chicago Criminal, Las Vegas Mobster, and Government Witness.

Inspiration

My background in law enforcement and investigations made it easy and fun to write my first six books, all fiction. The first two were based on cases I had actually investigated. When I transitioned to non-fiction, it was again due in large part to my prior life. The research for my police history and true crime books was fun rather than tedious. Talking with current and retired law officers, both federal and local - the people who had been there and done that - was an experience I'll always treasure. And most recently, co-authoring a book with a former mob hit man is the highlight of my writing career to date.
