    Biography

Chris Dunbar was born in Greenport, Long Island, New York and then moved to Texas as soon as he could, at least that is the story he tells to native Texans, such as his wife. Chris keeps searching for ways to leave Houston, like moving to Auburn Alabama, Dallas, and even San Antonio, but Houston just keeps reeling him back. Chris’ day job is performing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, but his night job is coming up with creative ways to wound and maim the characters he and his wife Heather created. For fun, Chris enjoys the occasional novel and video game, but he also likes to delve into his Scottish ancestry. When he can find the time, Chris pretends to play the Bodhran and the didgeridoo, much to the chagrin of his cats Lucius, Clyde, and Ophelia, not to mention his wife Heather.

    Inspiration

I am fascinated by history, mythology, and folklore, but I cringe when I read or watch something touting to be historical, mythological, or related to folklore, but are horribly inaccurate or are not true to the original basis. I also find authors too often write fantasy as an allegory of mythology, history, and folklore, often ignoring that there is just as much story in the original material as new material in homage to the original stories. My co-worker and I desired to use our world's history, folklore, and mythology to weave tales of fantastical beings who vie for control in our ancient world. We strive to spin tales true to the eras and mythologies about which we write and encourage other authors and writers to reach out to the mythology of our ancient ancestors for their inspiration. Very few works take place between the Fall of Rome and the rise of the Middle Ages. Hopefully through our works, others will see the rich tapestry that is this era... the Dark Ages.
