Biography
I'm an old military brat. I spent my early years all over North Carolina, then moved to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and lived there for 7 years. Moved to Guam 1976-1980, and graduated high school there. I sure do miss the beach! :) I have been in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee for 27 years now. Beautiful, but not the beach! I have been disabled now for 12 years. I had a car accident in 1995 that changed my life. I was as near death as you can get, even being revived a couple of times. I hit a telephone pole, with my face, at 35 mph. Yeah, OUCH! After close to 25 reconstructive surgeries in the first 2 years, and many years of depression, I found an outlet... writing! Going to places in my head that weren't filled with pain, and even becoming a different person as I changed from character to character. Such a great way to look at the world around me! I can do anything, be anyone, with just a few taps of the keyboard! I write the same kind of books I like to read. Mostly paranormal fiction, and most have an animal involved in there somewhere. I have a wonderful publisher filled with wonderful and very talented authors, editors, and art designers! MUNDANIA PRESS - what a blessing they've been! You can check out the beautiful cover art, buy a book, or find out about your favorite Mundania authors at www.MundaniaPress.com . You can't top an animal's unconditional devotion. They don't care how you look, they just love you. I also like to use a bit of comedy, even in my horror. It's much more fun to laugh, than to cry. I just finished up my first horror and I'm very pleased with it. I hope you readers will be as pleased with it as I am! Wonderful nightmares! :) I am also a paranormal investigator, which includes three other wonderful women investigators; Lacinda Powers, Katrina Fuller, Susan Dye, and myself. We have all the equipment for full investigations, just like what the Ghost Hunters at TAPS use. We just finished up a hunt at an old cabin, built in 1799, and an old civil war and slave graveyard in the woods behind the cabin. Lots of great results! You can find more about me, my books, and our hunts at... http://www.myspace.com/cynthiacantrell_books & http://www.myspace.com/restlessspirits_07 The restless spirits website is new, but will be updated soon. I am a single mother, having a daughter, 16, and raising my niece, 14. I have a wonderful support group of family and friends. I have to say a word of thanks to my wonderful publisher, editors, and art dept. at Mundania Press. You guys are fantastic! I can't thank you enough! Also, a word of thanks to Susan Dye, for telling me the truth about my books, whether they're good, or just so-so. :) To Katrina Fuller for her art design for my horror, The Curse of Amun Re, and to Tammy Martin and Storm for their help in getting me going. I love you guys! Cynthia
Inspiration
Wow.. so many! My family for one. They're so supportive and have been so wonderful through the tough years. God, the Lord Jesus, inspires me to do so much too. I even have "Christian Vampires"! Yep, that's right. They even wear a cross and fight evil. Vampire superheroes! :) I've always been a great lover of wolves and the Native American. I lived my first 5 years in Cherokee, North Carolina. My family is Native American, but a bit deluded over the years. (I'm a blonde!) My wreck has inspired me to do so many things. The Lord knew what He was doing when He saved me, both times! My soul, and my life. God is good. I hope that you will enjoy reading each and everyone one of my novels as much as I have enjoyed creating them for you!
