Biography
I'm 44, divorced mom of two boys - age 11 and 12. Live in New Jersey - and I haven't ever been arrested as I'm not a NJ politician. I have been an RN with the Department of Human Services for 21 years - and I oversee the 25 state homeless outreach teams and several (over 40) housing programs for the mentally ill population. In 1979 I was featured in two karate magazines, and in the 80's I was a keyboard player and lead singer in 4 different bands. Traveled to Italy, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Grand Caymen, Cozumel, Jamaica, etc. and still have wanderlust. Love to garden, read, cook, swim, fish, play pool in my basement and go on Disney Cruises! Now I'm having a blast with my book!
Inspiration
I accidentally wrote this book while venting on the computer after a friend's teenager didn't say "hello", "goodbye", "thank you" or anything else - when picked up in another state and driven back to NJ. The result is a sarcastic, comical list of the frequent bad manners displayed by many of today's children and teens. The second half of the book considers the manners needed upon entering college or the working world - and is directed at people of all ages! Everything in the book either happened to me or someone I know. Some of the bad manners are those of myself - after some much-needed reflection!
