Biography

As a professional writer with more than thirty-five years experience, I began my communications career in Public Broadcasting. Now, as a full-time writer, author, consultant, and through my company, Working Words, Inc., I take the work out of writing for businesses. I am the experienced writer that enhances their marketing messages in print, online, or video. While I consider this my "bread-and-butter" writing; my poetry, fantasy, and children's stories are my "dessert." Inspiration

In 1976, my husband, Jan, and I managed to write and mail more than 150 notes in only three days-after we got married, and before we left on our honeymoon! It was from this point on that I became known as the family's Thank-You Note Writing Expert. Later, I drew on my experiences as as a professional writer and the mother of two sons to develop my first Why ... THANK YOU! FUNshop™, which I presented to my elder son's third grade class in 1990. I continue to use Thank-You Notes as a teaching vehicle and to introduce the joys of creative writing to kids and adults. As a Thank-You Note Writing Expert, I have helped people of every age to creatively compose their thoughts and translate them to paper. My ultimate goal is to encourage the exploration of creative writing as a recreational, therapeutic, and expressive tool for living life to the fullest. "Why ... THANK YOU!" grew from my love of writing, my enjoyment in teaching others, and the hundreds of Thank-You Notes I have written over the years.
