    Look and Listen

    Biography

I live in Holly Grove, a very small rural community in the state of Arkansas. I am the eldest of five children and have three brothers and one sister. I have been married for just over three years and have a twenty-three year son and now a 4 month old son. Ever since adulthood, I have always had the desire to be near my parents and have resided closely by since I was 18 years old. I moved away very briefly, but eventually found my way back feeling like this is where I am needed most. Even though I have always lived near my parents, my recent marriage will not change my desire to reside nearby, just in case my parents need me. Presently, I work as an Office Manager for the USDA Agricultural Research Service. I am also a college student majoring in Business Administration, but I really love writing poetry, songs, creating stories of romance and intrigue. I have come to realize that writing is my passion. Now, I am a first time author of a romance novel “Two Loves, One Heart” and I’m currently working on my second novel.

    Inspiration

My inspiration comes from God, my wonderful, loving grandmother who raised me, and my devoted, caring mother. I wrote this small piece, (in honor of them both, that I call "A Portrait of Love" and dedicated it to them because their love has always been there for me, encouraging to gone on and be the best that I can be. “ A Portrait of Love” My opinion of poetry is that it is an expression of my innermost thoughts whenever vocal words go unspoken. Poetry expresses my deepest, most heart-felt feelings. Poetry is like dancing with my Father [God], personal…. cherished…. and loved…. like a child who is the apple of their father’s eye. My poem is dedicated to my loving grandmother who had been an inspiration in my life. This poem is a memorial…. an honor to her memory. She was a very special and important person in my life. Her love, patience, and strength had been an inspiration to me. Through my pen, I am able to share my poem and the impact and influence that my grandmother’s love has inspired in me. I also want to honor my devoted mother who gave me the gift of life. She is the reason that I’m able to share my talent with the world and she offered her unyielding love and support in all my endeavors. I can’t think of a more beautiful way to tell someone that you absolutely adore, “I love you.”
