Biography

Hello, I'm Brenda Hill. Thank you for stopping by. Books are such a joy in life--the feel of them, the smell, the new worlds they open for me. I believe in the magic of storytelling. No matter my circumstances, I can open a book and find love, laughter, and a light to guide my way. I'm a novelist, short story writer, and I write features and restaurant reviews for my Southern California newspaper. I teach novel writing and edit manuscripts on a freelance basis. My second novel, Beyond the Quiet, is about a repressed woman in her forties, who, after her husband dies, finally learns to live. And my first, Ten Times Guilty, scheduled for re-release summer 2009, is a suspense about a young single mother struggling to learn her own value. Even in our bizarre stories - suspense, ghost, or even the serial killer stories - perhaps something we write will touch someone in a positive way. And that's a good thing.

Inspiration

No matter the genre or age of the character, my stories are about women in crisis, probably because I've faced so many in my own life. I highlight a problem and offer possible solutions while celebrating the inner strength women sometimes forget they possess.
