    Biography

Born in Chesterton Indiana in 1940. The eldest of five children and had six of my own. I Have lived in several states and Iran. The first "real" book I remember reading was "The Last Days of Pompii". On our return from Iran we stopped over in Italy so I could visit Pompii. A wonderful experience. I dressed collector dolls from 1980 until 1992. Also published a collector's paper for five years. Worked as a cook and a waitress for ten years. Now I live with youngest daughter and keep an eye on my 85 year old mother. Iam due to get my seventh grandchild on June 22. I also have two greatgrandchildren. I used to absorb a lot of trivia type bits and pieces, but it seems to leave as fast as it enters lately.

    Inspiration

Somewhere in the back of my mind I always wanted to write, someday when I grew up. I just never seemed to reach that point of developement. Then, in 1999 I was doing research in the microfiche files of the Chesterton Tribune for family related items to be used at a family reunion. I became so facinated with the articles and advertising from the early 1920s that I forgot all ablout the family research. I just knew I had to write a time travel book about that time period. My favorite time travel book is "The Mirror" by Marlys Millhiser which I have read at least once a year sine 1978. This was my chance to do the same type of thing for my home town. The Westchester Historical Society ladies have been a big help to me in gathering tidbits to use for the book. Before his death my dad wrote articles for his cancer group newsletter and several items based on his memories. These are always close to my side and a real inspiration to my siblings and me.
