From devoted middle-aged parents to provocative sexual surrogates: dissolved in the glare of ultimate heartbreak Rod & Anita fused a new morality after the accidental death of their only child.
Biography
From Conservative Middle-Aged Couple to Provocative Sexual Surrogates Life was torn apart by the accidental death of Anita and Rod’s 16-year-old, only child. Their world became a circle with no corner to hide: A noose that slowly, over many years, strangled all desire to maintain their established life. From the beginning, they refused to acknowledge the potential of sexual closure, common to such tragedy. Their intimacy evolved in ways few therapists consider. Constantly expanding their sexual boundaries provided the highly charged spiritual fuel necessary to meld. Thirteen years after their son’s death, Rod sold his busy chiropractic office. They designed an unorthodox, emotionally charged focus: A profession where they could work together while continuing to help others. Combining their skills of Chiropractic and Art Therapy, Rod and Anita made a dramatic choice to go where few will ever consider; a place far too emotionally dangerous for most. For ten-years they worked as Sexual Surrogates creating a private, safe and clean environment for women, men and couples to experience their sexual fantasies. During those years their relationship flourished. Their sexual knowledge and compassion for others increased dramatically as they physically and emotionally (always together) explored the sexual dreams of others. Combining these ten-years of sexual research with their journey in search of an existence for their son is the focus of Rod and Anita’s book, Love is For Sharing: A passionate autobiography contrasting their battle through grief with the humor and ever expanding vitality of sex; this is an erotic book for modern couples wishing to break apart stereotyped walls of gender biased communication. Rod and Anita have been married for 44-years. Personal Bios: Rod Nairne - Chiropractor and Author Rod’s life made a sudden change with the death of his only child. He eventually abandoned the established professionally conservative simplicity of practicing as a chiropractor and looked inward for a way to survive extreme grief without closing out the joy of living. For fifteen years he pursued writing, developing a style that adheres to his feelings of living beyond the stereotype of closure. Anita Nairne - Artist, Author and Therapist. Art has been her life from childhood to studying fine art in Calgary, Toronto and Los Angeles. After their son was killed in a hiking accident, her artistic style changed dramatically. She began to paint from her inner vision with a sense of freedom that flows without formula. Anita adapted this free style into a method of teaching that allows the most inexperienced student to express and release emotions by creating art. Anita teaches therapeutic art from her studio and conducts seminars locally and internationally.
Inspiration
Thirteen years after our son’s death the chiropractic practice remained a symbol of the conformist life we were running from; we sold the office. We needed a new focus: A profession where we could work together and continue to help others. For ten years - with a plan to document our adventures - we provided “Fantasy Relief Therapy” as Sexual Surrogates. 'Love is For Sharing' is about us helping others. It is a story of anecdotes of how the service we offered created dynamic changes in many of our clients. Our stories display how the sex-drive is an enduring relationship between the human and his physical presence in a confusing world.
