Biography
I grew up in the backwoods of Georgia in remote counties in the early parts of my life, and this is where I was able to use my imagination and be outdoors. I was an only child until my sister was born when I was 18. With that being said and with not to many friends, I had a secluded childhood where I made up my friends and my own adventures. At the age of 16, I thought it would be cool to sit down and try to write a book. I could sit down and write short stories for class and I like that route of channeling my imagination, and I was getting at the age to where I couldn't play anymore. At 17 I sat down and wrote my first book, but it didn't just stop there; it became a saga that has just grown ever since. Family members started talking about it and last thing I know I end up at a writers conference at 21 where I learned I had a real talent. I tried my luck at the publishing houses, but they didn't care, so I gave up and went to college to pursue my biology degree. After college, I published my book myself. Also after college I got married, and my father and I began keeping bees together and selling honey. I was let go from my chemistry lab job in 2010 and I am presently trying to the microbiology field as well as promote my books, keep bees, raise chickens, garden, and everything in between.
Inspiration
What inspired me to begin writing my books is trying to find ways to channel my imagination. I had to or it would seem to explode if it remained bottled up. I decided to base the stories on my backwood and backyard adventures and went a step forward to combine them. When I started writing my books, I inspired my younger cousin to use her imagination and we began making stories together which helped the saga grow and form even more characters. The main character she created will appear later in the series and in one of the prequels to my first book. I also wanted to write books that had a lot of elements in it such as action, adventure, mystery, fantasy, science fiction, mythology, supernatural elements, humor, historical elements, but a touch of darkness. I'm not too much of a fan of a 'cut-n-dry anything, and it has to be exciting for it to keep my attention or I get bored with it very fast. It's a little hard to fit it into a box of genre, but sci-fi/fantasy does pretty well I guess.
