    Biography

I have been writing SF and Fantasy for over 30 years.I was a personal injuries solicitor for over 30 years, but retired in 2002 to take up a career in teaching English For Speakers of Other Languages ( ESOL ) foe which I now hold all the qualifications. I have been a member of the Birmingham SF writers group since its inception , about 25 years ago. I love wordsmithing like The Marx Brothers and all kinds of wordplay. I love zany wacky comedies.Being an only child sent away to boarding school at avery early age I became fairly self reliant and able to live in my imagination a lot.I think this oneness helped to define me.

    Inspiration

The dystopian novels of Huxley, Orwell and others have had a huge influuence on me as well as Douglas Adams and Pratchett.Iam still a geat admirer of Conan Doyle and to a lesser extent, HG Wells- particularly The Time Machine, though he does get lost too much in his own particular philosophy sometimes.Recently I have been drawn to historical fiction and particularly alternate histories.
