Description

Saverino gives the reader a first hand account of life as a professional sports agent. He tells what really happens in the clubhouse, behind closed doors. The story is told with a no holds barred approach, bringing the reader into a world few people ever get to visit. This is not just the story of one man’s experiences as a sports agent or his years as a young baseball fan. It is about how his early life, in a very Sicilian household in the Italian neighborhood of New York’s East Harlem influenced his business decisions and adult life in general. While it took fortitude for Saverino to leave a stable job and start a new career, it also required the support of his family. Saverino credits his success to the encouragement and faith given him by his family. Quite often the term ‘heart of the order’ is used to describe the three best hitters on a baseball team. The term is synonymous with strength, excellence and devotion. Saverino uses the term to describe the people who truly made it all happen, his grandparents. They came from distant and far off places with names like Piazza Armerina, Corleone and Palermo.
